The Daily: Why Hong Kong is still protesting – June 2019

publication date:17/7/2019

A podcast of The Daily about Why Hong Kong is still protesting centered on the social issue of the Hong Kong Anti-ELAB movement (Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement).

In the episode, the podcast started with the sound of the protest slogans and suspense music to introduce the background of the whole protest, the murder case of Poon Hiu-wing.

The first few minutes of the podcast has given the background and throw some questions to explain why did the protest did not stop.

The whole podcast is explaining the incidence in a good clue for people to have a clear understanding of the whole protest by following a clear timeline, from the worries of the Hong Kong citizen of being under a dictatorship since 1997, until clashing incident in front of the legislative council.

The dialogue between the narrators most likely explaining the confusion of this social issue to the public. The background music applied to the podcast at the right moment had created strong compassion for the incident for the listeners.

The reason why the ELAB is significant for citizens and why the ELAB is not the only reason for the social movement to work, are well explained.
